end of the world

Dinner last night was a Patagonian adventure at the aptly named Divina Patagonia. The restaurant is in Palermo Hollywood on Honduras St. a street crammed with restaurants, cafes and bars.

Our waitress, who I think may be the new love of my life, brought us a bottle of 2005 Pinot Noir from a bodega named Fin del Mundo. It took a minutes for it to open up, but once it did it was very tasty. We started with an assortment of Patagonian meats and cheeses, included standouts like venison prosciutto and wild boar sausage alongside a wide gamut of cheeses.

Drumm had a wild boar dish served with a mango sauce and citrus sweet potatoes. That dish got an official ranking of fair. My dish however was delicious. I went straight for the leg of Patagonian lamb served with a mushroom sauce and potato gratin topped with melted sheep's milk cheese. It was quite possibly my favorite thing I've eaten since being here.

After throwing back a shot of a Patagonian mint liquor and a cafe, we headed out to the bar, returning to Unico and grabbing ourselves an outdoor table from which we could observe the Hollywood parade.
